Education Policy

All parents must have the right to choose the school for their children that supports the beliefs, traditions and values of their home life. The feasibility of an education voucher system should be investigated. We support the call by Christians Schools Australia to develop tax incentives or other concessional arrangements to provide incentives for private funds to invest in school facilities.

The Nationals WA are committed to ensuring regional students have access to the same quality of education and choices as metropolitan students.

The Greens (WA) believe that:

  • education is a public good
  • education empowers people to live purposeful, satisfying lives and to participate fully as citizens in an effective democracy

Public Education –why you should care?

Whether you’re a Billionaire or a Boilermaker, you should care about public education. It doesn’t matter if your kids attend an independent or Catholic school or even if you don’t have children. Every single person in Western Australia will reap the benefits or suffer the failures of the public education system.

The #wa2013vote website will be kept online so politicians promises and statements can be checked until the end of next WA election in 2017, and after.
