The Browse LNG Development in the Kimberley has three gas and condensate fields called Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa, 425 km north of Broome off the Kimberley coast.

Torosa most north and to the east, Calliance most south to the west and Brecknock in between.

The development concept was accepted by the Joint Venture partners in 2010.

The Department of State Development’s strategic proposal, recently approved by Environment Minister Bill Marmion, allowed for multiple LNG users to be co-located on a single site, avoiding a number of LNG processing sites to spread along the coast and in more sensitive parts of the Kimberley.
