More Trouble for Liberals in Blue Ribbon Nedlands Seat

Liberals in Western Australia are facing more threats in another blue ribbon seat in the 2013 election.

Mayor of Nedlands Max Hipkins is to take on Environment Minister and high profile Liberal Bill Marmion.

Hipkins who has a strong background in Local Government Planning and holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering has got a strong business and educational background.

A previous Liberal party member and supporter Hipkins has resigned and cited 'government indifference to community'  as a key factor.

Premier Barnett is already facing a personal challenge in his own seat from disenfranchised voters, and Nedlands is following the same path.

This is not a new situation with previously long term South Perth Liberal blue ribbon seat going to Independent Phil Pendal when he left the Liberal party in previous years.

The #wa2013vote website will be kept online so politicians promises and statements can be checked until the end of next WA election in 2017, and after.
